It’s enjoyable once completed, though it may require some minor modifications. The rubber bands are quite prone to breaking, so it’s a good idea to have spares on hand.
Overall, the model looks great. The parts are high quality and fully compatible with major brands, though there are some differences and many highly specialized pieces.
Great for both display and interactive play.
I genuinely enjoyed the build—it was quite different from anything I’ve done before, and the finished model looks great. I was pleasantly surprised that it actually functions after completion. I was convinced I had messed up the rubber bands somewhere along the way, though apparently not in the firing mechanism. If you’re mainly planning to display it, this is a solid choice.
Points deducted for a few reasons:
The steps involving rubber bands could be clearer, especially when it comes to identifying the correct sizes to use.
Once fully built, it can handle light handling but isn’t durable enough for active play. The strap, in particular, isn’t very functional—one of the attachment points is only weakly secured.
Some pieces look nearly identical aside from small cutouts, making it easy to grab the wrong one if you’re not paying close attention. Fixing that mistake later can be frustrating.
The bolt-action mechanism was quite finicky for me. I suspect friction from the rubber bands is the cause, but I couldn’t pinpoint the exact issue.
That said, it’s a bit fragile. If you try to handle or use it too much, some pieces may come loose and need to be reattached. Overall, it works really well as a display piece, especially mounted above the door to his (secure) gun room.
