That said, it’s a solid controller—everything works great.
It pairs with the remote easily—just hold the power button on the brick for about two seconds, then tap the power button on the remote. The rechargeable design is a big plus and saves a lot on batteries, though you’ll likely be charging it more often than you’d replace batteries, so it’s smart to design your build with easy access for charging.
Performance is solid, with no noticeable lag—even outdoors and at longer distances (for LEGO-compatible systems). It delivers plenty of power, though Buggy and XL motors can drain it fairly quickly. Charging takes roughly 90 minutes, give or take.
Servo motors operate in an all-or-nothing manner, even with the thumbsticks. That said, the sticks themselves feel smooth and seem to offer four levels: off, one-third, two-thirds, and full throttle—definitely better than simple on/off control.
Overall, it’s an excellent choice for any LEGO enthusiast using power functions motors and accessories.
